Card Teaching Technique

This technique involves picture cards with the written word of what each picture is.

This reading method is generally used on younger children while they are still learning language.

It is an intuitive and fun technique. Parents show the child each card and repeat the word under the picture. The child will soon repeats the word whenever the picture is shown.

On the other side of the card is the word alone, without the picture. After children master each word, the parent can then just show the side with only the word. Soon enough the child will associate verbal word - written word - and meaning.
